POETRY BY JEFFERSON?
> I am lookind for a poem by thomas jefferson.(a democratic man) > I have been all over the web, w/no luck. I know of no poetry written by Thomas Jefferson. He did write an essay, "Thoughts on English Prosody," which is available in volume 18 of the Lipscomb and Bergh edition of Jefferson's wiritings (Memorial Edition). This essay is available online at: Writings of Jefferson, Vol. 18 This essay is not listed in the index of vol. 18, but it can be found there by going to pg. 414. He also wrote about various poets in some of his letters. But I know of no actual poetry by Jefferson himself.
