Thanks for your encouraging words. You are right: liberty and self-government are always under seige. ME 15:283 It is important that we do whatever we can to advance the cause of liberty. And you are right about those people who seem to be on the side of tearing it all down. Their negative legacy will contribute nothing to the advancement of mankind -- a smudge on the memory of man. No. There is no thought of giving up. What I need to do and what we all need to do is focus our efforts towards the most effective path. This Sally Hemings mess is important, but the central message of Jeffersonian Democracy is far more important. I am anxious to concentrate more on that.
